If the sight of the skin of a baby Polar Bear isn't your cup of tea, you probably shouldn't read on below the fold of this post.
A few years back, a mother Polar Bear and her cub kept wandering into camps over at Victor Bay, and as the danger increased, she was killed. The cub, which wouldn't survive on its own, was also killed.
As is always the case, the meat from the bears was used by the community, and the pelts were raffled off. My mother-in-law ended up with the cub's pelt, and asked that we send it off to the company that made our rug and have it made into one.
It languished in our freezer for a while, due to the wrong type of tag being put on, but about 6 months ago we finally sent it off. It arrived today. I'm only hoping that my in-laws will balk at the cost, and it will revert to ours.
First, for comparison, here is a photo of our full size bear.
And here is the baby rug. My son has grown since the first photo, but not that much.
