If you're like me and your interests lie, not just in the North, but in both polar regions, you're going to want to go visit Antarctica – Amongst the penguins. Its a relatively new blog by a fellow by the name of Noah Strycker who is spending this season at Cape Crozier in the Antarctic, conducting research into Adelie Penguins.
Thanks to John at Prairie Ice for directing me to that blog. John is on his way to spend the Austral summer in Antarctica also. Which just gives you another good reason to go visit John's blog, which is great no matter what hemisphere he finds himself in.

Hi Clare,
Greetings from Ushuaia! Thanks for the post. I hope to have up more tomorrow morning – maybe even a trip to the dump. Take care – John
Noah writes a lot for WildBird magazine. It’s cool to read about his amazing experiences.
Hey John, I’m officially jealous. Looking forward to reading more of your austral summer, and about your birding at the dump.
Thanks Patrick, he also is apparently an associate editor at Birding magazine. Always nice to find a blog from the other side of the world.
