Our sky grows steadily lighter during the day now. Every day makes a difference. The dark season really does pass quickly. In three weeks the sun returns.
But these days its place in the southern sky has been taken by Venus, glowing so brightly as it circles around. The twilight, as bright as it seems after the dark of the Solstice, is no match for this bright, unblinking "star" that outshines all of the others.
