A new link has appeared on my sidebar that is well worth checking out. It came to me courtesy my sister Michele (who is high on the list of people I wish had a blog). The Writer’s Almanac is Garrison Keillor’s program on public radio, that daily shares poetry and history. You’ll notice that my book list hasn’t changed in some time, and to tell you the truth most of the time lately when I try to read my eyes close and I fall fast asleep. But one of the books that is unlikely to disappear from it is Good Poems, edited by Garrison Keillor, a collection of poems from this radio program. It is unlikely to disappear because I like to have it near me. I understand there is a new book released Good Poems for Hard Times, and all I can say is I want one.
Poetry is a love. I wish, oh how I wish, I was a poet. Someone, and I wish I could remember who, said (basically) "A poet is someone who can put into words what most people can only feel". Oh to be able to do that. But I’m lucky that I can appreciate good poems, and lucky to have access to Keillor’s Almanac on the web. You’re lucky also, go visit the site, I guarantee you’ll return every day.

I’ve been away for a while and just checked into your blog this morning. Thanks for the note re Garrison Keillor. I have heard him when I travelled in the states and have picked up his radio program, if the wind is in the right direction, two or three times from NPR radio in New York State. There is also an internet connection but my dial up connection is too slow to play it properly.
