The Sun's return to Arctic Bay came on Saturday. I missed it.
I'll confess some ambivalence, a tiny bit anyway. Which sounds strange given that we haven't seen it for thee months. But it was well after noon on Saturday when I thought about it. I looked out and saw that while it was still above the horizon I'd have to journey down to the foot of King George to see it. And it -37 or so I just couldn't do that to the truck.
Today I almost missed it as well. Plans went awry when I stepped out to start the truck and saw a half of a leash where my dog used to be. We found him down at Leah's parent's place, and I jogged him back, the searing cold of another -37 along with too much cardio in the ultra dry air gave me a bout of Exercise Induced Asthma. But once I had a new leash fixed to the clips and Bolt back where she belonged we took a quick trip to where the Sun could still be seen and I fired off a couple of quick shots.
I knew there was going to be a lot of flare, I thought it might turn out cooler than it did. So, without further ado, here is the Sun, one day after its return to Arctic Bay.

Nice! Is that a dogteam behind the lens flare?
Yes. There are a couple of teams on the ice in the photo. And they are accompanied by several Ravens as well.
