I’m an inveterate Stat checker. I can’t help myself. In fact I’m pretty sure I’d get a lot more done during the course of a day if I didn’t take "just one more look" to see who’s coming for a visit. I no longer fret about them. I’m happy when people are visiting, I’m still amazed that people other than my family are interested in what drivel I may be writing, and when the daily hits drop below 200 I usually take it as a hint that I should be writing more. I know I shouldn’t be heading over to the stat page as often as I do, but hey it’s not like its crack cocaine. It doesn’t cost me anything and I can stop anytime I want. Not now, maybe later.
One of the cool things (for me anyway) that happens every once in a while, is when someone discovers the blog for the first time, and reads everything. It’s really cool for me because (once again) I’m amazed that someone is interested enough to go back to the beginning. What brought on this little discourse is that it is happening right now. As of about a minute ago someone from Madison Alabama (or their ISP routes through there anyway) is up to 61 page views. How cool is that. So welcome, hope you enjoy it. And welcome to everyone else, either welcome back or welcome for the first time. I’ll try to write something illuminating. Hasn’t happened yet, but I’ll try.

You have good stuff here and I can see why you get many viewers! I am a stat person also and know exactly how you feel!

I hope I haven’t scared Madison away. Actually he/she was back this am just before your comment continuing through the archives. Coincidentally (or not) I had a second hit from the same location but a different isp today.
It really is amazing the detailed information you can get from the various stat packages. So I don’t blame you – indulge yourself!
I would check mine more often, but they’re pretty pitiful, so I just avoid thinking about it!

I live in Madison Alabama but am currently wrapping up a Masters Degree in Northern Studies at the University of Alaska (writing my thesis at a distance).
I love the North and hope to return there soon. Meanwhile, I will have to “live there” through the Nunavut blogs!
