As Darcy and Kennie have already more than ably reported on, Monday was the start of the 2009 Nunavut Quest, the Inuit style dog team race. This year the race runs between Arctic Bay and Pond Inlet. Below the fold are some photos from the start of the race.
Not all of the komatiqs were pulled by dog team. There are times I think Travis has some Tom Sawyer in him.
This will give you an idea of the crowd that was there. It was a gorgeous day out!
