I really like this photo! You say that it’s quite dry up there now, so is this picture of a lake drying up? I like how it stretches out for as far as the eye can see! It’s so open up there!
Thanks Melodie. No, not a lake, it is the frozen ocean. This is Victor Bay, and there is an iceberg there on the horizon. The water pools on the surface of the ice like that in the spring. It is actually what breaks up the ice, as it acts like lens melting the ice into smaller pans.

No, other than slipping in one of the pools and getting wet. The ice can still be snowmobiled on. But it’ll be breaking up any day now.
