Okay,
I’m not sure if it drives anyone else nuts (pun quasi-intended) that Nutella puts itself out as part of a nutritional breakfast. I mean come on, it is liquid chocolate bars in a jar. But I have to say that my latest guilty pleasure is Heinz Toddler Biscuits dipped in Nutella. Try ’em.

You’re on a slippery slope now Clare. I shudder to think what vice will come next. 😉
My favorite is animal crackers dipped in it!
Yes I am Duncan, judging by how many biscuits I’ve dipped in this stuff I should probably stay clear of Crack
Sounds good Kara, these are almost chocolate bar size though.
True purists take their Nutella neat, on the end of a finger or,if they are fastidious, a spoon. It’s the hazelnuts that make it so nutritious. That and the fat. One must have a bit of fat every day for a balanced diet.
A ‘banane royale’ is not bad : use a large thin crêpe, stuffed with nutella, riped banana sliced, ice cream, then fold the crêpe over it. Eat and go straight to heaven.
Aahhh Nutella!!
I am not sure if it originated in Germany, but Nutella has cult status there.
People eat it for breakfast, like Canadians with peanut butter.
Do you get Nutella up in Arctic Bay?
Molly,
I think if I used a spoon I’d have a harder time hiding this guilty pleasure for the others, as it is I’m having conversations like…
Leah: Do we need anything from the store.
Me: Um, bread, eggs, those Heinz baby biscuits.
Leah: I thought Hilary didn’t like those anymore.
Me: Um, no, she, uh, likes to have several in the afternoon, after you go back to work.
Leah: Okay. Anything else.
me: Maybe pick up some cream for coffee and that’s about it. No wait I think we’re almost out of Nutella.
Leah: Travis is eating way too much of that.
me: Um, yeah, I’ll watch him a little closer now.
Suzanne,
that sounds wonderful. I wonder about spreading it right on a banana and then topping that with whipped cream. Purely from a culinary curiosity point of view.
Wolfgang, we certainly can get it up here in Arctic Bay. I just can’t get the breakfast part of this. Must be my upbringing (“Not before lunch”)
