One of my all time favourite things to do is browse through bookstores. I’m partial to small independant bookstores, especially those with books stacked this way and that on the shelves, much like my shelves. But give me any bookstore… even the mega stores (okay it is nice being able to have a double shade-grown decaf-frapa-mocha-something or other-chino after three or four hours as a break) and I’ll happily spend time, and money to add something to my "to read" pile. But it isn’t even about buying books ("sure it isn’t" says my sister), there is just something about wandering through the shelves… listening to the voices of the books.
But I haven’t been able to do that for over three years now (okay that isn’t entirely true. Arctic Ventures in Iqaluit has an excellent selection of Northern/Arctic related books, many I hadn’t seen anywhere else) and I do miss it.
So along comes the latest I and the Bird over at Cup O’ Books (has it really been over two weeks already?) and it is the next best thing to being there. Seth offers a selection of books with each post in this wonderful version of the best carnival out there. As usual, there are many many fine posts to choose from. Head on over, I mean, come on… birds and books, how can you resist?

And your personal book shopper would like to know which ones of those you’d like added to your list?!
Duh! All of them of course.
