Okay, put down your shade grown coffee and that doughnut, it is time to start DC Birding Blog’s conference, I and the Bird #5. John has done an excellent job putting together a first class conference. In addition to the usual suspects, there are a few new presenters for your entertainment and education. Be sure to attend the session of one of the new presenters, Shari Carpenter, whose poignant story is a tribute to her late brother who showed her the joys of backyard feeders, and Western Scrub Jays.
Of additional note is the creation of a new carnival devoted to the real success story of evolution, the invertebrates. Three excellent bloggers, Nuthatch at bootstrap analysis, Nannothemis at Urban Dragon Hunters, and tony g. of Milkriver Blog, have put together the concept of a carnival about invertebrates, The Circus of the Spineless. Go check out the home page of this carnival for the rules of submission and then contribute a blog and help make it the success it is sure to be. Time’s a wastin’!
