While I was out taking a photo to show the light at noon, at (practically) the Solstice, this team of Huskies began howling, perhaps at the moon peaking over the hills, perhaps at me. This HDR version is a little "cartoony" but sets the scene.

dude. this is NOON? I would howl, too! 😉
Hi Tara, 12:30 actually. Unfortunately its not a real good rendering of the scene, as it is an HDR to try and render all of the elements in it. Its hard to capture the amount of light at noon this time of year. The camera wants to make it bright, and then when you adjust the exposures to try and get it right you are of course being subjective. Our minds are much better at capturing complex lighting than a camera. I’ve got a post in the works where I’ll try and show roughly how much light there is. Perhaps tomorrow, although the eclipse may pre-empt it.
