It occurred to me that I had never posted a picture of the completed outside of the House, and I’ve been telling people to look for it on the blog. Whoops.
So here is one from earlier this fall….

Gorgeous!!!
Fantastic shape for the Arctic landscape! I’ve never been north of 60–I hope I get to see it in person someday.
what a beautiful home Clare- I love the shapes of your windows.. very cool!
Absolutely gorgous!
Wow, that’s beautiful Clare. Very cool shapes.
Zowee! Very nice. The windows, their shapes and placement, make me think of icebergs and jagged, sharp snow-scapes. Very creative and well-done!
Love the house.
Thanks, it is a very nice look. I think Paul the designer would enjoy the comments. People see different things in the windows. Some people see an inukshuk in the dining room windows. People see icebergs, snow drifts, mountains. Surprisingly only a couple of us see angled windows that didn’t quite fit in the rough openings, requiring some early reno work. I’ll have to take a picture of it in the dark with all the lights on.
Really enjoyed the blog. I think it’s great for showing off this little piece of paradise to the rest of the world. Incidentally, readers may be interested in the blog http://www.nanuk.nae.de – this was created in 2003-04 and chronicles a year in another Baffin Island community – Qikiqtarjuaq.
cheers!
