Patrick, he of the Hawkowl’s Nest, has put together an Olympic effort for this edition of the premiere bird carnival on the web. Once again, it is filled with gold calibre posts from around the world. They’re all worthy of a visit, but I’ll direct you to Coffee and Conversation’s Know your coffee birds: Blue-crowned Motmot, not only because it is a beautiful bird, but to get you visiting the blog as well.
If you’re like me and are one of the world’s millions of coffee drinkers, it behooves you to learn more about how to make your morning (afternoon, or night time) cuppa joe be a little kinder to the world, and its bird life. There are many very fine bird friendly coffees out there, and drinking them, rather than the mega-corp brands will not only give you a better cup of coffee, but help ensure that birds still have a place in our world.

So, there you go, making me feel bad because I buy the cheapest brand of coffee all the time – and now I live in a place with road access year-round!
Sorry Trudie, but you know that my intent was to make you feel bad, but to give you choices that will make you feel good. Obviously I don’t know what’s available over there, but I can actually buy Fair Trade Organic coffees on line, with free shipping, cheaper that I can buy mega-corp coffees here in the store. And they are roasted the day before shipping, and they are tastier coffees. I feel better.
