I’ve had surprisingly little to say of late. I guess I’ve been putting my writing energy elsewhere the past little while.
But the full moon over Arctic Bay is just a little too beautiful to pass up. I took this picture a few minutes ago, and it reinforces the limitations of my point and shoot camera. Perhaps its time to start saving for a DSLR.

Beautiful photo!
beautiful pic, i do have to add sometimes my point and shoot takes better pictures than our DSLR. I think we need to invest in a wide angle lens for the DSLR. I had a pic of the sundog a few days ago and it was way better with my P & S and crappy with the DSLR.
That’s a beautiful photo, Clare. Really captures the mood of a quiet, still night. I love the reflections at the edge of the bay.
Nothing wrong with that photo Clare, what colour! Thanks for showing us your world at this time of year, so different to ours with summer looming.
Terrific photo, Clare!
i love the photo too Clare but must say that my dslr is my favourite toy. one can always add more to a dslr, including a better flash for those action shots as tikes tear into christmas wrapping, wide angles to capture the vistas of the north, telephoto for the widelife shots, and on and on…
Beautiful picture and composition. I really like it. I have both point and shoot and dSLRs and I have taken many, many good photos with my point and shoot. The photograph you took is beautiful and no one would know the difference.
I did a fool moon piece on my blog too. Come by if you have a chance.
Keep shooting!
Thanks all, although you realize that everyone who is praising the Point and Shoots is subverting my attempts at justifying a DSLR.
