  • And the stars look very different today

That awesome photo was taken by the talented Kennie of Tales from the Arctic, and if you knew how briefly the rocket would be in that frame, once the motor ignites, you would be even more impressed. The rest of the photos illustrating this post are hers, Leah Leah and her brother Terry shot the

Yesterday my our rocket motors from Sigma Rockets arrived (after traveling several times back and forth across the country before we gave up on Purolater). This weekend, provided the weather co-operates, will be our first launch of the rocket that Travis and I made back in January.  Even with one of the two lower power

  • Its my party and I’ll cry if I want to

It was my girl's birthday a little more than a week ago. Ever since she first arrived in our life I've marked this milestone on the blog, so I see no reason to stop yet.  Her birthday seemed to sneak up on us this year, not that we weren't aware of it looming on the

If all goes well, Travis and I will soon be able to launch a rocket into the cold skies above Arctic Bay. Last week the rocket kit, and launch pad kit arrived and we put it together yesterday. • You ought to be in Pictures. Or not.

Part of my dearth of blogging on late can be attributed to the fact that I was actually out of Arctic Bay for a week, and actually got to go home to Roblin for a short visit with my family, and to introduce Hilary to them. The unfortunate thing is I can’t blog about my

  • Be Afraid.

While we were sitting down for supper this evening my (not quite fourteen month old) daughter grabbed a cushion from the couch and put it on the floor in front of the TV, grabbed Leah’s PSP, laid down on the cushion and with one eye on the TV made like she was playing the game.

  • A year old.

One of the events that happened during our eleven or so days with out internet service was that my beautiful strong daughter turned one.  Although she turned one on the 21st of January, we actually had her birthday party on the 20th because the 21st was a Sunday, and you can’t be playing games on
