Welcome to Blog Day 2005.
I love the concept of Blog Day, the idea of linking to five new blogs on one day to promote weblogging in general. I decided that I would try to find five other Nunavut blogs to link to and started searching. Unfortunately trying to find them was proving more difficult that I had first imagined. Either there are not very many of us, or we hide better than I have the patience to look. So I’ve modified my original concept.
Without further ado, here are five blogs for you to check out
1) Arctic Jules, a woman living and stitching somewhere in Nunavut.
2) Okay, this one may be retired already, hopefully not. Richard Giroux is from Montreal but worked this summer at the NASA project in the Haughton Crater, Devon Island. Read his posts he wrote before he left, hopefully he’ll pick up again.
3) Now I have to leave Nunavut, to go to someone who has visited Nunavut, Arctic Bay actually. Check out Johanna’s Adventures of a Geo-Geek, you’ll enjoy them.
4) Students on Ice, are also visiters to the Arctic, and the Antarctic for that matter. An excellent program that brings students to both polar regions by the tour ships that ply these waters in the summer.
5) For my final blog, I not only depart Nunavut, I’m departing the hemisphere and the guidelines of BlogDay. Simon’s 75 degrees South is not a new blog for me. It’s already linked on my sidebar, and I visit regularily. But it is a blog well worth the visit and you won’t regret it at all. Be sure to check out his pictures of the Emperor Penguin colony from this past week. Too cool.

Didn’t Arctic Jules have a band called the Polar bears a few years back?
Jules and the Polar Bears. Actually that was one of the first things I thought about when I saw the site. This one is Julie though, and I don’t think she is in a band.
