A mountain of Fog

So Fall is definitely trying to assert itself here.  It was a gorgeous day for most of the day, sunny, warm and calm, but now the cool wet weather has descended upon us. It feels like Fall. We are into the days on the calender that anything can happen.

The first year I was here, 1999, I experienced summer, fall and winter all in about a week.  It was bluebird weather the first couple of days, rainy and blustery the next few, and on August 26th it snowed. The snow stayed and that was the start of winter.  Welcome to the Arctic.

But I really wanted to share with you a couple of photos. The first sort of relates to the weather this time of year. We can get a lot of fog these days. This photo looks out to a huge fog bank out in Admiralty Inlet.  The cliffs that are covered by that fog are many hundreds of feet high. That mountain of fog is huge. _MG_9605

The next was from a couple of days ago. A mini-berg at Sunset. Enjoy.
