Three or four days ago Liza Lee Miller of the always entertaining Its Just Me, gave me an award, and said some pretty nice things about the House. I’m very flattered that she thought that highly of the place. The beauty of awards such as these, are that they are an expression of someone’s appreciation of what you have done. Thanks Liza Lee. I’m not going to pass this along to anyone else though, but encourage you to visit the blogs on my sidebar. The downside of these awards is that if everyone follows through with them, and awards seven other bloggers eventually you’ll hit everyone in the blogosphere. Which is fine if the goal is to have everyone read.
I was also tagged in a meme the other day, by Jen of Nunavut, another fine entertaining blog. The first meme I participated in, I basically begged someone to tag me with. It was a book meme and I wanted the opportunity to show everyone how well read and erudite I was, but alas no one ever tagged me. Nowadays I’m less inclined to participate in memes, although there are some very insightful and entertaining memes out there. But it is Jen, and seeing she asked.
The meme is to have your spouse say three things about you. Which can be a difficult for a spouse, unless it’s framed better. So I asked Leah for three things that she would tell someone if they asked her to tell them something about me, a slight change I realize but you get a different response if someone else is asking. We (people in relationships in general) always have a question in our mind about the purpose of a question of this nature from our spouse, is it a minefield like “Does this dress make me look fat?” or “Do you think so and so is pretty?” or is it something more innocuous?
So her responses are below, and not very illuminating about the nature of Clare, but here they are for your perusal. Clare as viewed by his wife…
1) You like birds.
2) You like travel, and I don’t.
3) I don’t know, you like hiking?
I’m not going to tag anyone, but feel free to play if it interests you.
As a bonus, because I know you can’t get enough iceberg pictures, there was some interesting things going on with the light and clouds and fog yesterday so I thought I’d share this photo with you. I swear I can’t stop myself.
Updated….. Because she wants, I’ll tag …on the present moment with the three things your spouse says about you meme.

My husband would just stare blankly at me and shake his head and walk away, I fear. So, there’s my response. I’m glad you liked what I had to say and I’m glad you believed me when I said you shouldn’t feel obligated to pass it along. 🙂
We must have taken 100’s of photos of the ice while it was in the inlet here in Cape Dorset. I did The Ice Part I-VI on the blog and could have done more. Keep posting the pictures of the ice because we definitely enjoy them. Wish I had your skills as a writer. Thanks
That’s it? That’s all we get? At least Steve@Reflections had some interesting (if censored)things to say! =)
It was the first meme I have participated in. I guess they’re a little like spam, but hey I thought it get some more posts out of all of us. The summer seems to be slow for blogging. Keep the posts about icebergs coming. You should make a shutterfly book! 🙂
Your iceberg looks like a ghost ship. I actually don’t think I’ve ever seen a real iceberg in spite of living in the maritimes for 5 years. I guess I just never was near the coast at the right time of year.
Awesome pics of the floating icebergs Clare! I am so jealous (er envious…) of you! I’ve only ever seen icebound icebergs … never free-floaters – maybe with any luck they might still be kicking around when I get back on the 4th (doubtful though).
Hi Liza. I hope I didn’t come off as unappreciative or that I don’t think the award important. I am always honoured (and amazed) that I have readers who actually enjoy what I write.
I really enjoyed your ice pictures “M” or “M”, even the “squid” :-), and thank you.
Yes Amy that’s it. Sorry, but I’m kind of the white bread of the universe. And remember, I asked Leah to answer as if a stranger was asking, so you’re hardly going to get the answer that is subject to being censored. BTW, your design for Megan’s blog rocks!
I enjoyed the meme Jen, its just hard to get enthused about them in general now. Some of the one’s I enjoyed the most were the Book Meme, the 10 years ago Meme etc. My answers for them dwell some where in the deep dark recesses of the archives.
Thanks Jennith. I think it looks a bit like a ship myself, and I’m partial to ships with bowsprits like this one has.
There should be some around Kennie, your iceberg around the corner is still there apparently.
