The Nunies have been fun. It’s been really interesting visiting the nominated blogs, especially in the dying hours, as the plays for votes have come out. The races were tight… especially in Best Blog and Best New Blog, it seemed like everytime I checked on the results the lead changed hands. So without further ado
Best Blog. The nominees for Best Blog were Townie Bastard, Jen of Nunavut, Port Town Ghosts, Way Way Up and Adventures in Medicine. All of them are good blogs representing a wide range of topics from Nunavut, and all are deserving of the title Best Blog. But only one winner could emerge. The winner is….
Congratulations Jen. You’ve won dinner for two at the House (you’ve just got to get up here) and a painting from Nancy Shaver. Oh and bragging rights for the next year, you’ve been voted the best blog in Nunavut.
Best New Blog. The nominees for Best New Blogs were Nunavut Uncensored, Tales from the Arctic, A Journey Northwards (aka The north is my snowcone…), Inflatable Elvis, and The Northern Chirp. Again, a great selections of blogs, and they’ve only just begun. The winner is….
Congratulations Jackie. You’ve won dinner for two at the House, so get yourself up to the high Arctic. Once again, bragging rights are yours for the next year.
Best Post. I have to admit that I didn’t like the way this unfolded. It is not the selection of posts, they are wide ranging, interesting posts, from a spectrum of bloggers. I think it was difficult for people to nominate something, and by the nature of the contest all of the posts just received one nomination. That left too many posts for one poll, resulting in a flawed selection process. I don’t want to take away from the winner, or from the nominees, but if the category remains next year I’ll have to revise it some how. That said, this was the poll that a clear winner emerged, capturing a large amount of votes. And the winner is….

Congrats again Jen, I guess that makes dinner for four, or a second dinner for two. (Oh and I still have to make the badge for this one.)
Hope you enjoyed it all, I’m sorry the televised award ceremony didn’t go ahead, but our hands were tied with the Writer’s Guild strike. I hope you continue to visit all of the Nominee’s blogs and the rest of Nunavut’s bloggers. I know you’ll find something you like.
