Okay, when Nunavut’s Premier, Paul Okalik, uttered the profane insult about the CEO of the Nunavut Association of Municipalities last June it was clearly wrong, and an unprofessional act by someone whose office clearly demands he act with more decorum. But… a $600,000 lawsuit because someone called you a name? Man, my money problems are over. I’ve got a whole list of people from back when I was in the Force I can sue now. Let’s see at an average of $300,000 per bad name… Anyone know a good lawyer?

I’m no lawyer but I’m pretty sure this case will succeed like a lead balloon. Perhaps the best that will come out of it is that, (given all the gaffs committed by the GN Ministers over the past several months), the electorate will think long and hard about who gets their vote. In the end, we get the government we deserve.

Part of the thing I wonder is this Darcy… even if the case goes no where are public funds going to be expended fighting it in the first place. They certainly are going to be expended in the courts administration of the suit.
