    Great work, Clare. I particularly like the second and third images. They have the same quality to be found in epic stories; in fact, they seem to suggest extraordinary stories, perhaps because woodcuts used to be so strongly associated with illustration.
    I think you can also get this effect by using the “posterize” filter and experimenting with the settings. (Typical photoshop — more ways to achieve the same effect than hairs on a cat’s back.)
    Looking at these makes me restless.

    Thanks Pete. There is something about the effect that appeals to me, and I think it is the illustrative effect. Now if only I could take as evocative as photos as you I’d be on to something.
    Restless? For lambshanks in the arctic?

    Hi,
    Nice effects but part of real woodcuts is seeing/using the actual wood grain. Linoleum prints perhaps?

    Thanks Evan, they are, to my mind anyway, reminiscent of woodcuts and so the name works for me. Linoleum prints work also.
