And the Best Blog in Nunavut goes to… Port Town Ghosts. Kate Nova writes a delightful blog, sprinkled with delightful photos. In fact a photo of hers, of a dog team moving through some ice, from last year ranks amongst the best dog team photos I've ever seen.
After the hard fought battle, that saw the lead change, and then a last minute tie, and then a runoff poll, she gets to sit back and enjoy the spoils of her victory. She can relax now while enjoying her Purple Saxifrage painting (donated by Nancy Shaver), a Spa in a bucket (donated by Indigo), and if her ears get cold, one of Arctic Bay's knit caps. Of course the best prize is being able to say that she has the Best Blog in Nunavut (and she can say it with a nifty badge for her sidebar).
All of the blogs in the running this year, Townie Bastard, Jen of Nunavut, Tales From the Arctic and The north is my snowcone…, all were deserving of the nomination. Any of them could have walked away with the claim. But in the end there can be only one winner (at least in my vision of the Nunies) and this year it is the incomparable Port Town Ghosts. Congratulations.
And although only five Nunavut Blogs made it to the voting, be sure to take some time and visit the rest of them. It is a diverse lot and you're bound to find some that you like.

I will, they are pretty much the standard Arctic knitted cap. Sort of a beanie with a band and a tassel.
