One of the birds we were lucky enough to see very well when we were in Roblin was a flock of Franklin's Gulls foraging for earthworms at the fair grounds there. It is amazing what can find out about a bird that you never knew.
When I first saw the flock I was somewhat startled to see that they had a pink hue to them. I wondered at first if they had some sort of stain and went to get my camera to record them. While getting the camera I checked Travis' field guide and found out that no, in breeding plumage they have a pink tinge to them.
And here I thought that Ross' Gull was the only pink gull.

Pretty! I dig the “robber’s mask”, too.
Pink is ALWAYS in fashion!
Rats! Fawn stole my pithy remark!
They are very pretty gulls, and they were very skittish. I may post some other photos later, but none were great.
