It amazes me that a flower can bloom when it’s hovering around 0°C! I wonder if I could plant those types of plants down here during the winter… That would be kind of cool! (But I’m not too sure since I do know that you guys are getting 24hr sunlight now…)
I don’t know how they’d do in winter Melodie, but you could probably get them to bloom in early spring. Saxifrage are adapted to bloom early. They set their flower buds in the fall so they are good to go once the ground warms.
Although its still coolish here, the micro climates where they are currently blooming are pretty nice. Down low to the ground, and right now on south facing hills they get a lot of heat.
