Hey folks, the 36th edition of a Tangled Bank has been released over at Peter’s B&B blog.  If you want to read some of the best science and natural history writing on the web today head on over and give it a read.

As usual one of the best posts of the bunch comes from Nuthatch at bootstrap analysis. Until I read this post of hers I had no idea that Canada and parts of the northern United States have no native earthworms, ours being wiped out in the last iceage.  The nearly four dozen introduced species have all been imported from elsewhere. I find it incredible that the ubiquous earthworm that I remember from all of my life originated somewhere else.
